Richland High PTSA honors 3 with awards

By the Herald staff

The Richland High School Parent Teacher Student Association recently honored three people with awards.

Math teacher Jeremy Smith received the Outstanding Educator award recognizing his work to go beyond the normal expectations of his job to make the learning environment fun, beneficial and challenging.

Kim Oates and Lynn Mcadoo received the Golden Acorn Award acknowledging the two volunteers' dedication and service to children and youth.

Oates was recognized for being in charge of food concessions for all Richland High School sporting events for more than 12 years.

Mcadoo was recognized for her many years with the PTA including holding just about every local PTA position. She currently is on the state PTA's board of directors as the Region 12 director.

The award winners received a state PTA certificate, pins and gifts. Also, the RHS PTSA made a contribution in their name to the State PTA Financial Grant Program supporting financial grants for students pursuing post-secondary education.
