I spent most of the weekend reloading Windows Vista from scratch on a friend's laptop. This was pretty much a worst-case scenario, because they had no backups or image copies of any kind, and the laptop is old enough that it came only with original Vista (no SP) recovery media. a freelance Dev wanted for a small project

I am looking for a Dev to code a tiny app for Windows a macro to assign the 'grave key' as keystrokes as~in assign my email address to the grave key. it should be pretty easy to someone who can code, as it would be a very light program, I could afford to pay £40. The Windows Tax refund at Dell, continued

Recently I posted on the subject of the Windows Tax refund from Dell. Clearly there is a problem with Dell's product offering. Purchasing a system with Windows (which costs money per copy of Windows), is cheaper than an equivalent system with the same exact specs that comes with the Linux operating system (which is free). It would appear that something has changed considerably in the Spam Filter for the new site. I have now had two totally innocuous comments diverted because they contained "words associated with Spam". The first was something I attempted to post at the beginning of the week, and it has still not showed up on the site. This used to happen most often with things that contained a lot of links, but neither of these... Read more
