4:53 P.M. — A Bonita Springs-based loan modification company and one in Naples were shut down by the state Office of Financial Regulation.

According to a release by the office, these companies and their principals are prohibited from providing loan modification services in Florida:

• The Elite Financial Management Group Inc.; HPA AKA Home Protection Agency; and Capital Group and Associates Inc. of 9200 Bonita Beach Road, Suite 210, Bonita Springs, and its principals Michael Poka and Steven Itwaru.

• Modification Consulting Services LLC, SWFL Consulting & Marketing LLC of 4760 Tamiami Trail N., Suite 27, Naples, and its principals Lake Walton III, Juan Jimenez and Abby Jelley.

The orders charge that the companies are acting in violation of Florida laws prohibiting unlicensed businesses or individuals from providing loan modification services.

Elite’s phone was out of order and Modification Consulting didn’t return a phone call this afternoon.
