Robin Wright, Jay Leno turn up for Chelsea Handler book launch

March 18, 2010 | 7:25 pm

ActressRo_Jason_59936857_MaxChelsea Handler sure has a lot friends, given her daily targets on her E! talk show, "Chelsea Lately."

The comic's pals turned out in full force on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, celebrating Handler's latest book, "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang," with a cocktails at new club Bar 210/Plush, next to the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Her buds Robin Wright (sans producer beau Greg Shapiro), Jay Leno, Jenny McCarthy, Diablo Cody, Leah Remini, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kris Jenner showed to toast her literary effort. "Inglourious Basterds" actor Eli Roth brought his new squeeze, Peaches Geldof.

Naturally, her sidekick (and budding adult film star?) Chuy was present, as well as comedians regularly featured on her show, like Whitney Cummings.

Handler prepped for her big party by waxing philosophical on Miley Cyrus earlier that day in her blog. She takes issue with Miley's calling singing a "fallback" career."If things start to go south for me at this point, the only thing I have to fall back on is my back ... or a possible cashier gig at the local Rite-Aid," she wrote.

"If Miley gives up music, what am I going to listen to during my time alone with the shower head?" she ponders.

May you never hear your Miley's last song, Chelsea.
