Health care reform bill lacks common sense

The recent health care bill voted on by the U.S. House of Representatives caused me to wonder what kind of people we have representing us in this country. Whether you’re for or against this bill, how in the world did these representatives agree it would be a criminal act not to buy into a health insurance plan? As written, the penalties could be up to five years in prison and/or up to a $250,000 fine.

Where are we going to put these criminals? Oh, I forgot, unemployment is more than 10 percent, so we can build more prisons and create more jobs. Who cares who’s paying for this? We’ll just print more money. This is only one of many examples in this bill that makes you wonder whatever happened to common sense.

I’m discouraged that every U.S. representative from Connecticut voted for this bill. I will not vote for my current representative in next year’s election. This country is slowly going down the tubes and with representatives we have today, this downfall is gaining momentum.
