Commons reaches 5 million files

On September 2, the number of files on Wikimedia Commons passed 5,000,000. The five millionth file, a scan of the front page of the Danish newspaper "Kjøbenhavnsposten" from November 28, 1838 (shown), was uploaded on September 2nd, 2009, 11:46 UTC.
