Dina Lohan Unveils "The Lohan Green Toothbrush" at Go Green Expo
Lindsay Lohan's mother appeared at the Go Green Expo on Friday to launch a new line of water-free toothbrushes.
"Lohan" may not be the first name to come to mind when you think of going green and doing good things, but the family is working to change their image. First, Lindsay Lohan went to India to film a documentary about human trafficking for the BBC, and now her mother, Dina, is joining in the crusade to better the world. At the Go Green Expo in New York City, Dina Lohan announced the launch of "The Lohan Green Toothbrush."
We've heard about the Preserve line of recycled toothbrushes, which are made from recycled yogurt cups and can even be sent back to the company for further recycling if you enroll in their "toothbrush subscription service." Well, the Lohan Green Toothbrush aims to tackle a different facet of toothbrushing wastefulness: water conservation.
According to a release about the toothbrush we uncovered on Slog.com, "In 2006 the US EPA estimated that the average citizen wasted 2 gallons of H2O daily as part of brushing ones teeth and oral hygiene. Today that might amount to 600 million gallons daily! Over 2 billion people in the world don't have access to sanitary water. The Lohan Freedom Brush will provide a healthy alternative as well as contribute to the well being of others in which water conservation is mandatory."
Further details as to how exactly the toothbrush will work proved hard to uncover, but we could glean from sources like the New York Post that the Lohan Green Toothbrush aims to save users roughly 2 gallons of water each day since it is entirely water-free. The toothbrush will be available to consumers in time for Mother's Day in May. From the pictures of the launch posted on WENN.com, it looks like a model for children will also be available. It's great to see the Lohans attaching their name to a good, eco-friendly cause.
