LAST season’s Heatwise Aberdare Valley Under-12s League and Cup runners-up Cwmaman Institute visited ENTO Aberdare Grasshoppers at the Michael Sobell Sports Centre fields in their Under-14s Division debut.

Cwm found it very difficult, and in a one-sided affair against the bigger and stronger Grasshoppers, the score at half-time stood at 10-0 to the hosts.

The second half was notably similar to the first, with the Grasshoppers attacking with every opportunity.

But with some lacklustre finishing, the score could have been greater than the 24-0 final score.

The Grasshoppers goalscorers were Tyler Hollidge (6), Ieuan Gardener (5), Christian Williams (4), Andrew Fenaroli (3), Josh Jones (2), Morgan Jones, Tom Lindley, James Parker Rosser and one own-goal from Cwmaman.

Full credit to the young Cwmaman players as they played their hearts out and not once looked like giving up.

James Thornton was named their player of the day while Tyler Hollidge and Christian Williams stood out as the best players for the Grasshoppers.
