Livestock Department workshop begins LAHORE: A four-day workshop on Project Designing and Management for senior professionals of the Livestock Department has been organised by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, in collaboration with the planning cell of the Livestock and Dairy Development Department.
According to a press release issued by the Punjab University on Tuesday, Livestock Additional Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Mushtaq, while chairing the opening session, said that the Punjab government was giving priority to the uplift of the livestock sector and had increased its development funds to Rs 2 billion for the year. He said that the workshop had been organised for professionals who had to manage development projects in the department, and expressed the hope that they would acquire the desired management skills needed for the execution of such schemes.
Life Sciences Business Management Dean Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha told participants that the university was striving for human resource development in livestock and allied sectors. He said that his faculty had conducted seven training courses and workshops during the last financial year and trained 150 people from the Livestock Department. The workshop participants would be trained in project planning, development of project proposals, project appraisals, marketing aspects of projects, projects in public sectors, communication, project management and project designing in the livestock sector.
