Western Digital has introduced the all new My Passport AV portable media drive that works with select Sony camcorders, Blu-ray and other media players. Capable of holding up to 320GB, the new My Passport AV portable media drive can be simply hooked to the supporting Blu-ray players, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 consoles, and TV sets. Available only at select outlets, this Passport AV portable media drive costs Rs. 5,150.
The WD My Passport AV portable media drive works with a number of Sony Camcorders and you can simply hook both of them together to transfer hours of recording without using a computer. For instance, Sony's new HandyCam video recorders offer Direct Copy feature which could be used to store the HD video directly on the My Passport AV HDD. The good part here is that no computer is required. So, if you've to record an entire wedding and then keep dumping the video, then this drive comes quite handy.
Formatted in FAT32 file system, this portable drive is ready for Windows 7/Vista/XP and Mac OS X Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard. The WD My Passport AV portable media drive uses the same hard drive technology found in the Digital Video Recorders and Set top boxes. The media drive uses USB 2.0 bus interface for data transfer.
