Q: What is a Cap?
A cap works by 'capping' key services like national and international voice calls and SMS, national MMS, national and international video calls, voicemail, special numbers and the choice of news, sport or fun mobile servicse at a certain limit each month. For example, the $29 Cap allows you to make up to $150 worth of national calls including $100 international voice and video calls, SMS and other included services, and you only pay $29 per month.
Q: What happens when I go over my Cap value limit?
At that point standard rates apply. So on the $29 Cap for example, standard rates apply once you've reached your $150 monthly Cap limit. See the Cap details table for standard rates.
With 3 you get Free Talk 24/7 to everyone else on 3. For example, on the $29 Cap you get $150 worth of monthly value plus FREE national voice calls worth $160 (200min) to everyone on 3, at any time, every month.
Q: What happens once I've reached my Free Talk 24/7 limit to other 3 mobiles?
Once you reach the limit of your free 3 to 3 minutes, these calls will be charged as normal voice calls, and will be included in your cap. If you have exceeded your Cap amount as well as your Free Talk 24/7 amount, the calls will be charged at standard rates.
I’m an existing customer. How does the new Cap plans affect me?
The new cap plans will not change your agreement with us in any way unless you choose to move to these new Cap plans.
Can I change my current plan?
Yes. You can change your plan using My3 online or by calling 3 Care on 133 320.
Should I change to the new Caps?
Our new range of capped plans offer more capped inclusions as well as a content inclusion, but as with any other offer you should consider your personal needs prior to signing up. Some rates have changed and may not provide equal or better value depending on your usage.
Can I change back to my old plan if I don’t like the new Caps?
You cannot change back to the old capped plans if the new Caps do not meet your needs.
Q. How many International calls do I get with my Cap?
You get up to $100 of international voicecalls including videocalls. Your international voice/video call value is included within your monthly Cap every month. Once you've reached your international voice/video call limit, standard international rates apply. These charges are outside your overall monthly inclusion.

But don't worry, 3’s Broadband Zone covers the greater metropolitan areas of most Australian capital cities, and plenty of others places too.
