LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A University of Kansas class is recording oral histories of the state's religions.
Professor Tim Miller says the goal is to gather interviews to create the oral history before the information fades away. Miller wants the class to become a yearly offering and the results would be posted online for everyone to access.
The group already has found it believes is one of the final three members of the "Lawsonians" in Wichita.
Class members say they also want to unearth the stories of religious experiences and sexual orientation in the hopes of demonstrating Kansas' diversity of faith groups.
