Brazil's Meirelles To Coordinate PMDB Economic-Platform Plan

BRASILIA (Dow Jones)--Brazil's central bank president, Henrique Meirelles, will coordinate development of the Democratic Movement, or PMDB, party economic-policy platform ahead of Brazil's general elections this year, party leaders said Thursday.

Meirelles' participation was announced at a meeting of party leaders in Brazil's congress.

Additionally, Brazilian Defense Minister Nelson Jobim was chosen by the party to coordinate government-policy programming.
