This is weird.

Just moved into this house 3 months ago, and love it. The only thing is late at night while standing on the porch for a smoke I hear very clear footsteps walking around in the yard. i click on the porch light and nthing is there, but still hear the steps walking around. Others in the house have heard this as well. cant even call this a ghost because everything inside the house is peaceful. aazthis is really weird. has anyone ever heard of anything like this before/

Sound travels further at night and it could just be someone walking on the street behind your yard, or on the other side and the sound of their footsteps is echoing into your yard.

I suggest throwing the bricks after you actually see them, makes it a lot easier to accomplish the task of hitting or missing.

Could just be a large raccoon. Put food on your porch before you go to bed, if it is gone in the morning it’s a raccoon or another animal.
