The University of Ottawa received more than $15 million in provincial research funding yesterday.
The money will support more than 130 researchers working on 22 projects.
Dr. Ian Clark, a professor in the earth sciences department, will receive $8 million to develop technologies for monitoring and protecting local groundwater sources.
Dr. Paul Corkum will receive $4.2 million to further his pioneering work in molecular imaging, with the goal of controlling the movements of electrons as they speed along inside molecules.
Dr. Nadine Wiper-Bergeron will receive over $58,000 for her research on how the body regulates the formation of fat, muscle, and bone as we age.
