The morphology of the tracheary elements of the climbing fern Salpichlaena (Blechnaceae) were analyzed by means of LM and SEM. These two cell types are herein referred to as narrow tracheary elements to distinguish them from the larger Reticulate pit membranes on tracheary element end walls are evidently widespread in ferns. |
