Tyler Perry, the producer of “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion” and “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?,” testified on Wednesday in a copyright infringement trial in Marshall, Tex., The Associated Press reported. Mr. Perry, right, who also acted in those films, is being sued by Donna West, who says that he took material from a script she wrote, “Fantasy of a Black Woman,” for his 2005 movie “Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman.” That film earned about $50 million, and Ms. West is asking a jury to award her all of its profits. Mr. Perry testified that his script was an original work, but he added during cross-examination that he was not sure if anyone saw him write it. “I never stole anything from anybody never,” he said.
