Is this WP worth taking to LV?

So ive been thinking about going to grace (buff spec) just for the sake of getting the wounds buff and putting the rest into salvation (heal spec).

The reason why i even thought of doing this is due to a discussion with a friend. We were talking about how much (or lack there of) mastery pts affected base numbers. His conclusion was that the points are simply there to unlock abilities.

I tried this out myself.. and specced half way into salv (10 pts in +3 ability unlocks) and taking the wounds buff from grace and nothing else from that tree.

i was healing for about 1030 base with TOTD (Touch of the divine- grp heal) when Salvation.
Now im healing for about 955 while Grace. ( not much of a difference imo)

Granted this isnt the only difference thats going on here with respec'ing... i do lose martyrs blessing but in LV ive been finding myself hardly ever using it. (heck the past couple runs, all im doing is spamming TOTD with pious and a hot or 2 and seems to be working better that way) and..

I know my hots will suffer as well.. not sure by how much. ( dont want to re re re spec to find out either )

so my question is... is this spec worth taking to LV? ( and yes im going book and hammer. willpower is at 820.)

anybody have a Grave/Salvation Spec they can help us out with.. we have 3 healer group doing Lost Vale with 1 Tank and 2 DPS. the healers are RP , AM , and WP.. Tank is an IB and DPS is BW and WL we wanna get the +76 or 80 wounds buff from the Grace and the 10% parry buff also and the rest on salvation

You'll need RR40 to really pull it off, but I go to LV with exactly that build. We got up to N'kari last night but it was already 4:30 by the time we got there, I'm sure we'll clear it next time. I actually use more Str than Will and use DA as a big spike heal as we already have another WP group healing, but on two of the bosses they drop a fair amount of AE so I would swap in a 1hander and a book. If you're just looking to use Grace for the buffs instead of melee healing, you can either gem for will off my 4 sent/2 conq (boots and gloves) mix which would give you a still passable amount of str but a lot of will, or go full sentinel. It's up to you.

The build you're looking for is Grace 13 points up to Sigmar's Grace, also grabbing Sigmar's Vision (use this on your tank, it's bloody mandatory) and Greave of Sigmar (use it on yourself, the WL and the tank, I know it's hard to juggle but it's worth it), then Salvation up to Pious Restoration. At RR50 you can take either Divine Light or Grace of Sigmar (I went for Grace since as I mentioned I hit hard and big Divine Strikes as filler between DA and keeping 3 people buffed for str is a good idea).

See my post in the Grace in Lost Vale thread in the WP forums for results with only 675 str. 4x 1150-1250 depending on the boss in 3 seconds is nothing to sneeze at, and I have all those buffs too. With some Invader gear the numbers just get astronomical. Have your tank guard you, you will be an aggro machine.

I can't say for lost vale, since I've yet to run it, but this build (the RR40 version) works wonders in the other instances. you have almost all the flexibility of the grace tree with most of the healing of salvation.
and yeah, you're an aggro machine. you'll want guard and should slot intimidating repent to supplement.

Oh, tactics:

Fury/Discipline/Greave/Grace for melee healing with a side of HoT (or Fury/Discipline/Greave/HD if you're rr40)

Discipline/Greave/Grace/Exalted Defenses for dealing with AE heavy bosses, or if you're looking for casted heals with a side of buffbot (or discipline/Greave/Exalted/Subtlety and have the tank guard someone less robust like an Archmage or BW if you're rr40)

Experiment a bit but I find that these are the best. There are a multitude of ways to build stats for this build, from buffbot with casted heals (low str/high will) to what I do (high str/mediocre will thanks to discipline).

If speccing grace just for the reason to get the wounds buff, you could all just buy the new hybrid potions that give 100 wounds + another effect. They don't stack with grace wounds buff but that doesn't really matter since the potion buff is better then the grace buff :/

My guild dose LV every weekend with 2xWPs myself Grace/salv & a m8 who is full salv. Our main line up is Tank= IB Dps= WH/SM/KOTBS Healers=2xWPs, the only part we change is the Dps as we ant got any other healer class in the guild that is lvl40 & Geared yet.

After the first run on gettin to know LV, it become's pritty easy, all i can say is just try & find what works for you. PvE in this game needs a big Buff & 1.2 didnt do much apart from make it even easyer.

my grp generally runs just 2 healers

me(WP)
and an AM

spec salv/grace splash(for parry buff)

other then that stack the out of willpower can u can solo heal for some of the fights if the other healer goes down

i generally sit 1.1k wp 120ish healing power

Lost vale is much much easier with IB.
you should always have one in group also after patch its much easier with salvation

How can you do LV with one tank, the Purple aggro orb N'kari drops. I thought a tank can't pick it up twice in a row but must alternate it?

In my group either I get the purple orb (if anyone) or we let it go. You don't HAVE to pick it up. Generally, we try to avoid that orb as it complicates the fight unnecessarily. we just have to watch out for the big cleave she drops after the orbs go away and the champs are up (btw, with only one tank I am the one who picks up the champs who run in). It's harder but certainly by no means impossible - we did drop her last night after all
